Jack's Baptism

Last Saturday, my oldest child made a decision to follow the Savior that I know will continue to influence the rest of his life...he chose to be baptized.
Look at that adorable guy!

The program was sweet--Poppa Busch and Grandpa Flake gave talks on baptism and the Holy Ghost, respectively, Jack's two Nanas said the prayers, Grandma Flake played the piano while Jack's Uncle Abe lead the music, and McKay and Molly sang a beautiful version of "If the Savior Stood Beside Me."

Steve baptized and confirmed Jack a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and gave him a beautiful blessing in which he spoke of Jack's strong will and strength of character.

I was so proud.  The baptism was simple and lovely, and the family who came just brought so much joy to our hearts that we could hardly contain it all.

Clark was proud of his big brother and wanted a picture with him:

As did Maggie.  I love that she's holding Jack's hand in this picture.

It was special to see Jack's sweet expression as he came out of the water.  He had been praying all month that he would be successfully immersed in the water the first time (he really didn't want to have to be dunked twice), and his prayer was answered! He was so proud.

Congratulations, Jack.  I'm so proud of you.
