This is Jewel. Darn it.
I went in to the doctor yesterday morning, as I told you all, and got checked--and I was at 3 centimeters and 85-90% effaced. We told her that I had been having contractions 3 minutes apart regularly, and she told us we were in early labor and that we would probably go in to active labor later that day.
So, we went home, I fell asleep, and the contractions calmed down a little bit...but then we went walking again, and they were, once again, strong and 3 minutes apart. This happened on and off again, ALL DAY. My mom got in to town at about 5:00-ish, and NaElle came over with her, and we all went to the mall (because, of course, it just happened to be a record-breaking hot day...90 plus degrees outside) to go walking. I tried "curbing"--walk with one foot on the curb and one on the street (it looks ridiculous, but it's a GREAT work-out), and I was having some REALLY strong contractions...but once again, we got home and they calmed down.
We went on yet another walk (I think we ended up walking about 7 or 8 miles yesterday...Steve and I were both EXHAUSTED), and then we just decided to at least go and get checked, to see what was going on. We went into the hospital at about 11:00, and when she checked me, I was at....drumroll, please.... 3 1/2 centimeters and 75 % effaced. AUGH!!!!!! Are you kidding me?!?!?! All that work and only half a centimeter!?! Grr...
So, they told us to go home and go sleep...I'm still technically in early labor, but it's "resting," which they said could last a couple of days. So still no baby...but I did have a great night's rest last night, so we'll still have to see what happens.

I am glad you to some sleep! I am sure you've looked online or heard every 'trick' in the book that's supposed to get labor going...
...I was dilated 4 centimeters for a week with Addie! But when my body finally decided it was "time", she came SUPER fast!

Hope you are doing well... and that things progress quickly! I feel ya on the walking! I actually lost like 3 lbs in my last two weeks of being pregnant from the constant walking! Of course, I was trying to get contractions going... lucky you having them already! Let me know if you need ANYTHING at all! I'd love to help in anyway I can!
